I would say they have a very good LB group. However, I believe that they are 3rd or 4th behind:
1. Chargers
2. Bears
3. Miami (maybe)

Im not sure if Linebacker is our first goal this offseason. We have Crable coming back, Adalius Thomas and Tully Banta Cain still on the roster, and Pierre Woods consistently getting better. And this is only on the outside, the inside is all set with Mayo and Guyton. Maybe in the late rounds where we can get him at a great market value. Expect our first round pick to be a value pick. If he is on the board Jermaine Gresham out of Oklahoma is a great option, we need a new TE.

The Pats have a very good linebacking corps with Adalius Thomas just added. The Pats are also going for great run stopper Edgerton Hartwell.

The pats dont have the BEST linebackers but they have the best group as of right now. They work well together and are all very good athletes. None of them however are the best at their positions, despite this they still make it work and a group of good athletes that work together is almost always better than a group of great athletes who dont work together. Right now they are most likely the best group. But sometime in the very near future i could expect them to be replaced by a young Chargers linebacking core led by a very good Shawn Merriman

They definately have a group that is versatile and probably one of the leagues bests. With Addition of Adalius Thomas along with Colvin, Vrabel, Bruschi and probably a draftee they look to have one of if not the best group of linebackers in 07.

I would say so. I would say Chicago is up there but then Lance Briggs is holding out so Patriots probably have the best linebacking corps right now.

I really cant say the Patriots have the best LB crew... lets not forget about the Broncos... they are fast and they ball hawk. I'm not even close to being a Broncos fan... I like my Chargers LB group but losing Edwards is not a good sign.... but I hope they get that kid from LB U out of Penn State... if he falls in the draft. But mostlikely they will be targeting a FS.

With Bruschi-Vrable-Thomas-Colvin,I would say so but they are going to have to use a number one pick this year or next on one since Bruschi and Vrable are nearing the end of thier playing days,I think I would wait until next year though they need a safety more than anything right now.

It is a lot closer than, say, in 2004.
Bruschi was either a step slower or the flu really got him. Vrabel is OK inside but no Ted Johnson. Seau is a good run-stopper if not injured. They needed ADT.
