I looked through the mid-range forecast model out as far as Wednesday and all I saw was frontal precip and no major storms and initially most of this weather appears to be in Ark., Tenn., Mo, and southern Ill region and then tending to spread westward around the southern end of a high pressure ridge toward Wed.

An upper level trough will be approaching from the west coast early in the week, and a surface low sets up just east of the Rockies. The sfc low will cause a low-level southerly flow of warm, moist Gulf of Mexico air to overrun the C Plains states. As this air approaches the sfc low, it will rise, condense, and cause rain and some thunderstorms.

Severe weather is not much of a threat Monday. The upper-level energy gets closer to the Plains Tuesday, though, and then instabilities created by upper-level divergence combined with the introduction of cold mid and upper-level air looks to produce some severe weather, including the possibility of tornadoes.

After Wed, or possibly Thu, KS/MO should quiet down, but you're likely to have colder temps and maybe some snow.
