Money grams from out of the country are scams, but in the United States I would trust it being ok. I fill out money grams all the time.

People have used MoneyGram money orders for scams. They have also used Western Union ones for scams. It isn't the MoneyGram company, so if you bought it at Wal-Mart you should be fine.
As an Ebay seller, one thing that might make me feel better about accepting it would be if you enclosed a copy of the receipt from Wal-Mart that shows where you paid for the money order. That could go a good distance in making the seller feel more comfortable about it.

max,
DO NOT pay any way other than PAYPAL with a CREDIT CARD!
it is the best protection on any internet sale. you have the option of filing for a CHARGEBACK should something go wrong, your item never shows up, it is fake, etc...
"I dont want the person Im sending the money gram to think its a scam or something like that."
you should be much more worried that the seller may SCAM YOU!
use a CREDIT CARD!
being new, you need to learn how to protect yourself.
here is the link to Trust and Safety, read everything you can.

don't buy designer items on ebay, 90% are fakes.
steer clear of buying from ASIA, too many scams there.
learn how to spot a HIJACKED ACCOUNT!!
never bid on anything that seems too good to be true! IT IS!

No a money order is a money order. If they wanted you to pay with a cash wire through money gram, THAT would be a scam. Just be sure to keep your receipt for the MO and thats that. Use your head!!

If you buy a money order at wallmart it's going to be fine. You can also get money orders at the post office. Walmart is certainly not going to sell 'scam' money orders.
This question would be better asked on an ebay forum. Have a great time on ebay! I sell and I love it!

You are buying a money order from a reputable place, so you know it is good.
But you don't know if the seller of the goods on E-bay is good and will he send you the goods if he has all the money first.
Learn about Pay-pal, How could you find this seller if he just took your money.
