I'm really hesitant. On one hand, you've got things like LotR, which was a stellar movie. On the other hand, you've got cheesy B-grade flicks like D&D.

It really depends on the storyline they go with. Something like Thrall's life (from being a gladiator to escaping to lead the Horde) would be a tough one to make - audiences have a little harder time empathizing with obvious non-humans - but the story is good.

And let's not forget that the in-game outfits often throw physics out the window. Some of that is going to have to be toned down - I don't envy the costuming designers.

All told, though, if they do things right, there's a lot of interesting things they can do.

Does going to see the movie count as completing a quest?................. Will it take three weeks for the characters to get an animal to ride?............... If the movie's a "flop" do the characters still "level-up"?

I'll go see it for kicks and giggles. But I don't expect it to be great or anything. It'll probably be cheesy as hell.
