A good friend once told me that "Locks don't keep bad people out, they just keep good people honest." This holds true for almost anything that we can lock, including a safe. If someone really wanted in they would get in, even if they had to cut their way through. Thus it really comes down to personal preference. They'll both work and both have advantages and disadvantages. For example digital locks require some type of power source, which can be a pain, but at the same time you get a modern look and don't have to worry about a key. Personally I prefer old ones with a combination dial, but only because they look cool and stout.

I prefer combination. To many things can go wrong with digital and you can break a key. Write your combination number down somewhere it can't be found by any one, but yourself and you have got it made.

You can't really ever lose a combination, you can forget it, but not lose it.
