If she can hang out with other people, so can you. Now that you are older, maybe you are growing apart. Having some differences in interests. Just because she's been your friend for a long time, it doesn't mean that you can't find new friends. There's no law against that.

I had the same situtation happen when I was in high school. My friend, "Melissa", was my best friend since sixth grade. All of the sudden, our junior year in high school, I wasn't "cool" enough for her to be around. While she was out drinking, I was working a job and preparing for college, which doesn't make for a great conversation at a kegger. Plus the fact I didn't drink made her "uncomfortable" around me. ;)
You know what I did? I moved on. She was more concerned about being popular than a true friendship. I saw her, years later, at the grocery store. She was about 40 pounds overweight, a college dropout and a divorcee. Why? Because she let her partying ways, the whole reason for her "popularity" get in the way of what was really important. After that meeting, I realized I was the one who got the great end of that deal. :)

well gurly i think you sjould tell her that if it were not for her bein popular u would be her only friend and that these people would probaly not even know he rif she were not popular, but you on the other hand have known her sinceyou were little and you have always been there for her and that you like her for her and not because she is popular , maybe that you would still like her even if she were not popular. you could tell her that which one do u think would last longer a friendship with a girl you have known almost all youre life or being popular and not spending time with her, or you could get another best friend and do things with them in front of her and make her see what she is missing out on??? well good luck

I think you should talk to her and tell her that you value your friendship and feel like you guys should hang out more. If she doesn't value it, then she doesn't deserve "a true friend" like you. Think about it this way: how many of her friends now would be friends with her if she wasn't popular.

Yes, forget this friend and pay a lot more attention to your school work. You need it.

what does she have that you dont have? Maybe you need to make yourself more noticeable and just have fun. Do not focus on her popularity , focus on building yours.

That happened to me with my friend....
It is really bad when that happens, and I got really mad at my friend, too.
Just tell your friend, gently, about that. I'm sure they'll understand
