Actually, it's worth a life. Some diseases, like AIDS, don't have a cure, so what good is a pound of cure? An ounce of prevention is worth years of good living.

I'm not sure what you are asking - you have already been told the "answer" - it is a saying like "a stitch in time saves nine"

The answer isn't 48p or something - it is what you have already "a pound of cure" - in other words, prevention is better than cure

This goes to the idea of preventative medicine. If medicine, for instance, provided proper nutritional advice for children when they check in with the doctor (assuming the parents and children follow it) wouldn't that prevent millions of dollars of "cure" later on when the person develops diabetes, heart failure, arthritis, and on and on. In this case, nutritional advice, the cost is practically free while the savings in not having to treat diseases caused by obesity later on in life is millions of dollars and years of life.

Be exposed to germs early so your natural immune system becomes fiendeshly good at kicking germ butt... Haven't you ever noticed that those who try to stay away from germs and illness are chronically sick (even if only mentally)
