I am looking to buy a webcam with a microphone, but I want to be able to use the microphone without the webcam at times.. Can anyone recommend any webcams that are able to do this that are $60 or less? I've heard on some of them you can and on some you can't..

Well. Maybe you can just buy them seperately. Some microphones are cheap, yet good. I have a friend who got a microphone and it's good. Some microphones are around 30 something and they're good too such as the yahoo messenger microphone. If you buy a cheap and good microphone, you might have enough money to buy a webcam. I want a microphone too. Good luck!

You can get a Logitech mic at Wal Mart for like 10 bucks, and its pretty good, especially for that price. Well worth it. I would just do that, along with the webcam.

in my experiance the built in mics on webcams are awful, you would be better to cet a cheaper cam without mic and get a seperate mic, that would be a much better option, they are not expensive. my cam has a mic but i turned it off and got a cheap desk mic, about $50 all in
