Sress upon the bone increases density, Shinto. This means strength. Your length of bone is probably genetic. Please note, I have met several men who spurted after 18. One didn't even reach puberty till 21! The other was short until he sprouted to 5'8" at 23! A third, who was 5'6" at 16 was 6' at 19, when I next saw him.
Exercise will not stunt growth. Smoking and bad eating can.

Weight lifting won't stunt your growth but don't overdo it. Don't stop eating if you're trying to lose weight, the best thing to do is eat right. Another thing, don't just concentrate on one part of your body, try and work out your whole body, it will give you a more proportional look.

No, it is only during the preteen years that there is a possibility to stunt your growth. Right now is the perfect time to start. In fact, I know guyst that started when they were thirteen, and they're fine. Helluve a lot stronger than me that's for sure.

I've always heard that it does, but so long as its not extreme training, it shouldn't effect you that much (extreme being like 2 hours lifting, everyday).
