I'm just curious who do you think had the biggest impact performance in the first round of the NCAA tourney? Any surprises and/or disappointments?

Pretty formful with some predictable upsets. The biggest bracket-wrecker was VCU beating Duke. I think a good number of brackets, including my own, were counting on a few upsets like Creighton and Arkansas, but didn't pan out.

I did pick Purdue & Xavier, so I'm pretty happy.

I think VCU had the biggest impact dethroning such a cornerstone like Duke. Maynor really seems to live up to the hype and if anything, they've really put themselves on the radar as a force to be reckoned with. The same could be said for Winthrop, but Duke is a more serious defeat than Notre Dame because of its pretty consistent performance throughout the tournament's last 20 years.

I am not going to go with a team but a conference. Im a Big 10 fan but i still didnt expect them to go 5-1 in the first round. The one loss coming from an inexperienced Illinois who couldnt hit a basket in the final 10 minutes and seal up what should have been an easy win. Most people expected the Big 10 to have a poor showing this year going 2-4 at best.

Actually, Winthrop upsetting Notre Dame didn't suprise me at all. They play in a conference near where I live & I've seen them play. They are very good for a small school. They only lost 4 games this year (UNC,Wisconsin,Texas A&M,Maryland).

No huge surprises and lots of favorites so far. I was more disappointed that some of the lower seeds didn't play better (such as LBSU).

Winthrop and VCU of course..and they both can win again. Louiville probably looks the most impressive. Az. and Duke stunk it up.
