A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

I'm 61, have my own business working with local bands as a recording engineer and work part-time at Radio Shack, have some minor health problems and wish I was in your place all over again. But I can't so I want to spend more time perfecting what I have done before I get to the point that I can't do it anymore. I guess at my age, my joy comes from just getting better. I'm not a senior citizen by any means, I'm a SEASONED CITIZEN and like nothing better than passing on some of my experience and knowledge to anyone willing to listen. As for you, stop wanting and start doing. Life really is short!!!! There is a little counter lyric in Leon Womack's song "I Hope You Dance" that goes: "Who wants to look back on their youth and wonder where those years have gone"? That says it all, believe me!

As one who is closer to the end than to the middle or beginning, take my advice. Live each day as if it is your last. Laugh much, love deeply and often, turn off the TV, read everything you can get your hands on, eat ice cream with hot fudge sauce, don't worry about your diet, pass the foolish by, embrace the ones you love, sleep as little as possible (it wastes soooo much time), see everything - really see it....
This life is not a rehearsal. It is all we have and you don't get to do it over again.

Me? Well I want to live my life in Christ! How much more reasured and promised, and more action packed can you get? lol Really?! It's amazing all the things He has for us to do, all the treasures He wants to share with us, all the unconditional love. He has enough to last us a lifetime, and then eternity. What more could you want? How truthfully content, and then a hundred times more can I be, just being in His word, blessed by His grace, forgiven through His mercy, and seen through wise eyes. He gives us everything, and then even more. What more could I want? Maybe you've heard that christianity is boring, or unfair, there are many prejudices, but I enchourage you not to listen to them! We have failures, but In the freedom from sin and the righteousness the Lord sheds on you, there is no cause for it anymore. I dont want to live for me anymore, I want to live for Christ. I want to surround myself in church, beauty (I still love to travel), My family, my friends, learn about Him, sing, laugh, smile, grow in faith, I've wanted to feel more than ever too! You'd be pretty amazed. This still is an ongoing struggle and always will be! We aren't perfect, but God offers us away out of the chains of the deciever. I know most movies have made this to look like a joke and a lie, and perhaphs I sound a little cliche`, but our freedom comes through Christ alone, and I hope you dont just take this as a thrown out request, because that is not what I mean by this. You see, God desires a relationship with you. Do you know He sees you as you will be when He is finished with you, instead of all your flaws and how many times you've messed up? Your struggles, your heart. He will lift you up out of misery. Although, your choice (is a gift).
You dont need all that fancy stuff though (and who knows what God will give you besides all the love he has to offer, not that it matters!) Find true fullfilment in God's word. Not just Psalms has all kinds of poetry! Oh my goodness! Where to begn right??
"The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restoreth my soul." (And there's more of it too.)
Psalm 23: 1-3
You've gotta believe Him when He says it. It takes a lot of trust, sacrifice, patience, which he is willing to provide all of.
Here are some other wonderful verses:
"For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10
A beautiful verse:
"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it."
Song of Solomon 8:7
"In every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted by him."
Im even beggining to understand things I did not see before.
I hope I didn't affend you in anyway, but nothing inspires me more than the Lord, I wouldn't trade in my life in Christ for anything.
P.S: Dont live in the moment, let this moment live in you, forever. That's God's love!
Your friend,
and may the Lord bless and keep you!

I want to live like nobody has ever before me, i want to be remembered for things ive done in life (good things) i don’t know why but this idea of being remembered is so powerful in me that its my driving force to keep going, im afraid to be forgotten, i want to live rich, but have the ability to help others live like me, i want to be free, i want to be able to decide when i wake up, when i do nothing, and when i work, i want to have control, i want to be powerful, and most of all i want to have someone i truly love, and loves me.
