would a supercharger be better suited for a v8 engine rather than a turbocharger since the supercharger is connected to the crankshaft, which means there will be a greater power output since the v8's crankshaft will be spinning super fast. Like, a supercharger put in a v8 will put out more power than the same one in a v6, whereas a turbocharger will give the same level of boost no matter which one it is in because it runs off of exhaust gases which will be the same right?

both turbo and superchargers power increase is relative to the power supplied by the engine. the turbo will supply different levels of boost depending on cfm output from the exhaust. the v8 will need a larger turbo than a v6 to create the same amount of boost. two turbos are not needed on a "v" engine, it just needs custom exhaust to run 1. the turbocharged engine will loose power during the lag period. it just depends on your taste, do you want increased power at all times? then you want a supercharger. if you want a power band feel; go with turbo. on a v8 a supercharger is more affordable, and is probably the best choice. v6 or 4cyl, either choice will do fine. ive driven some crazy fast four cyl. supercharged cars, but the turbo feels more powerful because there is so much pull once boost has reached full potential. either way, more air is being forced in the engine, resulting in more flashing red and blue lights in your mirror.

I think you're kind of missing the point. You can change the pully sizes on a supercharger to make it spins as fast as you want, it's not directly attached to the crank. In reality the crank of a V8 will be generally spinning a lot slower than a 4 or even a 6 cylinder engine.... but all of this is really neither here nor there.

It is true that in general, a supercharger is more well suited to a V8. a supercharger produces its power by parasitic drag on the motor directly... the supercharger actually gets its power from the motor as you stated. This works better on a larger motor with more torque since it won't mind losing a little power down low in the powerband. A turbo however doesn't necessarily take any power away from the motor, however it does take a little longer to make that power (this is known as turbo lag.)

Another benefit of using a supercharger on v6's and v8s is because of the fact that "v" platform of the engine creates two different banks of cylinders, requiring two seperate exhaust manifolds, and thus two seperate turbos. However you only need one supercharger, since it's belt driven.

Personally I prefer a turbo. With new dual scroll / variable geometry turbos, there is none (or at least FAR less) of the "turbo-lag" that used to accompany turbocharged engines of the past.
A twin turbo V8 will prove more powerful and drastically more efficient than most supercharged V8s

I have one of each. The supercharged car is right there when you stand on it.The Turbo isn't. I can also run a better exhaust system on the supercharged car.

You only need one big turbo on a v-type engine, but it is a better idea to use twin turbos. The only downfall to superchargers compared to turbos is they are noisy and they use some frictional hp to make hp.lubrication, heat, and turbo lag are some downfalls to using a turbo.

It depends on when you want your power. I prefer the supercharger because its always giving more power at any time, where the turbo is on demand or when you step into it.
