Milwaukee has a great public parks system, if you're into that kind of thing (hiking, biking, picnicking, etc). I'd recommend Greenfield Park on the west side or Grant park on the south side.
Also, the Milwaukee Public Museum and MIlwaukee Art Museum are both really neat places to go and see things. I'm not sure what exhibits they'll have during July, but you could go on their website and check it out.
Festa Italiana will be going on from July 19-22. You may want to check that out - great food, good entertainment, fun times.
And, of course, there's always the Potawatomi Casino, the Boerner Botanical Gardens, Pettit Ice Center, and lots of other places to golf, tours to see, etc. The Historic Third Ward also has a lot of neat shops, restaurants, and galleries.
