You can probably do catalouge, I'm 5'4 and manage fine. Or you can start by doing promotional modeling, it's good money usually around $17 an hour and all you have to do is stand around smile, be friendly and wear a tshirt usually. It's a good way to get started in the industry and is usually a weekend thing so it allows you to pursue a regular career.

First of all, if you want to modle, call the corporate offices of department stores and learn how to apply. That'll get you started industry wise.

Second. Likely, you're just being too hard on yourself. Most girls have this idea in their heads how they should look, and never seem to think they look that way. Most likely, you're alot prettier than you think.

i.e. I know several girls that I wouldn't change any aspect of, they're that gorgeous. Yet, they seem to think that they're overweight, rtheir eyes are too small (or too big), or there's something wrong with their hair.

Don't beat yourself up over it.

Something you might not know, the women that model plus sizes clothing - aren't plus size women. It's actually a brilliant marketting strategy.

lose weight or gain weight...no designer in the world has 7 to 9 sample sizes. If you dont fit the sample sizes you dont wear the clothes.

fashion sample sizes are 0-4 and plus size is 10-12.....all the markets are like that and you have to follow the rules or find another career. PLus you have to be like 5'8" atleast ...unless your face is 10x that of ana beatriz barros.

You have 3 options here.
1. you can go to the gym and become an athletic model for brands like Roxy and Hollister
2. You can gain more weight (yet stay toned) and become a plus size --- you can even try now and see if they will take you for catalogues.
3. dont become a skinny model, you will be dissapointed by the results.. people are VERY cruel.

Get a day job that pays the bills, but keep pursuing your dream. You might be the breakthrough model that gets *real* women into the fashion scene!

Have you ever thought about modeling in a foreign country? I know there are a lot of foreign models in Japan. I don't know what kind of look they are looking for exactly, though.

models measurment's are 34 -24 -34 35-25-35
you must be 5ft 9 or more for runway fashions
print model can be under that

check your measurement's if your smaller or larger

you already take a small size
try and lose some weight if your measurement's don't fall into this categorie

I think it would be healthier for you to slim down actually. But I'm questioning if a 0 or 2 is attainable for you. It depends on your body structure. Some people are meant to be more curvatious than others. But I think it would be unhealthy for you to put on unnecessary weight just to be a plus size model. Here's another option. Dove is doing this real women campaign where they use ordinary women to do their advertisements. Maybe you can apply for that.

Start out with catalogs. Lots of famous actresses and models have started this way. The requirements aren't as tight, and if your good, well, Victorias Secret is the Holy Grail, and you don't even need to be super skinny.

Keep your own look and make yourself the average women model. I have seen some models like this, alothough it isn't common, you should try it out. If you ever become famous, you know where you got advice.
