In general, not always. As a preppy minority, I notice a lot of people seek my friendship...but I find it hardest to even seek deep friendships from rich, white women...unless you join a sorority or something. Even if you're dating one of their friends, they are still standoffish in general, not always. I find I have the most in common with these girls, but it's rare that they seek or return friendship. I do have them, but not as many as other social identities. Is it jealousy or social stigma?

For the most part they are fake and not based in reality but a fantasy world. A minority girl, cannot afford to hide away in a fake world, she has to get her education so that she can survive and all of her life's decisions are much more critical in her success.

What is fake? What is the real world?

Rich people tend to be into themselves and pleasing themselves. It's narcissism. If you had a surplus of time and money what would you spend it on? Making yourself pretty, buying stuff that makes you smile, and hanging out with people that please you. Why settle for less when you don't have to? Because to appreciate the value of anything it must be earned - even friendship. They don't have aneed to earn friendship, they just turn to someone else as though they were a different store selling a better product.

I dont know why they would be jealous, but as someone who was the poor kid at a very rich private school - its tough to make friends with rich women because they tend to have poor self esteem. I mean they worry about some really superficial stuff in really deep ways....I mean they will love your perfume, until you tell them it cost 4 bucks at CVS - then they will hate it - as if they were mistaken or something....they feel they have to "prove" something, but they dont exactly know what....and so they can be hard to talk to, because they are always trying to be person A in crowd X and person B in crowd Y and person C in crowd Z. So you put them in a mixed crowd and they dont know who to be half the time.
Dont worry about hanging out with rich/poor or white/black etc
Go for genuine...

Maybe they have been rich longer and have more in common with each other. There is more to money than just money.
