The robbery resulted in assaults on 3 of the employees. Talk to an attorney. Don't seek legal advice in a forum like this.

People sue other people for all kinds of things. The question should be, do I have a case and what are the odds that I can prevail.

Of course, who would have guessed someone could spill their coffee and win a million dollars?

Most importantly, ask yourself, "Will the benefits offset the cost?"

I'm pretty sure you can, because the security measures should've been taken, but they weren't. The lawyer would use that as the case. If the security measures were taken, it would've been less likely to happen.

This is America, we all sue all the time for whatever. Truely the employees are lucky to be alive and immediately quit if they haven't already, then have someone do to the employer the same.
