Canada on paper is 140 years, I believe. The Maritimes are older than the U.S. 400 years or more. Vikings were around almost 1000 years ago. The Red Earth people before that. Kennewick Mans skull was discovered in Washington state of all places and shows to be of European origin and its 5000 years old for you negative answerers. There were lots of settlements in N America way before Columbus "discovered" the new wolrld. For all of the white haters out there just thank your lucky stars there wasnt some other colonizers here before we settled.

Canada's Confederation was in 1867. But we've been here much longer than that. Canada used to be a Commonwealth country but we have had no more actual ties to Great Britain since 1982.
