I bought my sony vaio in Thailand, then I went for a vacation in Japan it was ok for a couple of days, but when I plugged my in Tokyo it suddenly shut down then it did`nt open again. Did the cold weather affect it? what happened?

the voltage in Thailand is 220 the voltage here in Japan is 110,,

Thailand and Tokyo use different voltage. You probably burned up your laptop. It's best to take it or send it to a dealer to see if it can be salvaged. Remember, when traveling to different countries, it's always best to check the voltage ahead of time. You can buy an adapter just about anywhere. I hope you get it working again.

its possible that they use a different voltage over there, i would have researched that befor i went. if the voltage was higher it could have damaged your computer. usually temperature does not affect computers, only in extreme cases

I know the power in japan is 220vac
what is the power in thailand ?
look and see if your power supply will take 220vac
