St. Louis?! Go straight to the Kid's Museum. The greatest museum I've ever seen, besides the Louvre.
The zoo is fun too. But I like the Kid's Museum the most. Besides Six Flags, of course.

There is so much fun stuff for the whole family in the STL!
The zoo is awsome & free, parking is cheap!
The science center is fun, free parking!
The new busch stadium should be fun(I haven't been there yet, but GO CARDNALS)
Six Flags in Eureka(STL county) has a waterpark also(seasonal)
You gotta go see the arch (there is a museum inside)
Grants Farm is also great for the little ones(feed the baby goats the kids will love it!)
The Big Foot Musem (monster trucks)
The Muny in Borris Park (a great theater) I could go on forever about the fun stuff to do there!(I miss it really bad)
I hope this helps & you guys are gonna have so much fun!!!
P.S. pack a picnic style lunch & eat it at the riverfront
