definitely Becks he never played great for England at any major tournement and yet everyone saw him as a god when he was england captain I remember when he got injured playing for United before the 02 world cup and all the papers were saying how if he dosent play in the world cup england dosnet have a chance to get out of the group. Well he played at that world cup and was a major dissapointment bit to mention the fact that he missed a penalty against Portugal in euro 2004.

Frank Lampard. His main qualities are running about a lot and being able to kick a ball quite hard. Obviously these are essential qualities when selecting the worlds 2nd best player.

To the user Frank Lampard, you have once again proved your amount of intelligence, or lack there of. Beckham has been in the top 10 for the FIFA World Player of the Year voting 5 times and 2 times he was runner up.
He finished second behind Rivaldo in 99', when he deserved to win. He finished second to Figo in 01'.
Yet, you justify Lampard's ability (ie, not being over rated) by saying he was runner up to Dinho. Yet, can the same argument not be used to somehow prove Beckham's ability, and therefore disprove the thought of his lack of ability?
But Beckham, in his prime, was the best right sided midfielder in the world. People falt him for his fame, for his live outside football. But, what you can't falt him for is his ability; which, when at United, he has loads of.
