There's a CD in the Guardian today, with lots of reasonably decent artists on it... Something to do with Friends of the Earth and climate change

I don't, usually, LIKE the stuff, on the "FREE" CDs you get, with the newspapers, but, - a few MONTHS ago, now, - there was one, in a national daily paper, that, intrigued me, - so, I KEPT it! It mentioned, that it was something to do, with the day, that England beat West Germany, 4-2, to claim the famous Jules Rimet trophy, - that's the OLD World Cup! I put it away, and, - until just a FORTNIGHT ago, - FORGOT, that I HAD it!

Then, - because it was RAINING, that day, - and I was BORED, - I decided to see, what it was about! I thought it was gonna be some sort of DOCUMENTARY, about that tournament, - so, - you can IMAGINE, that, - when I started the DVD player, - having NEVER SEEN that game, (I was a few days SHORT, of my THIRD BIRTHDAY, on that famous afternoon, - 30 JULY, 1966, - I was TOTALLY RIVETTED, to the TV, right THROUGH it!

Of COURSE, - having been a sports fan, all my LIFE, - I KNEW the RESULT, but, I STILL sobbed, with PRIDE, as the late, - great, - BOBBY MOORE held that Trophy, aloft!

I have heard, though, that, - shortly, BEFORE his DEATH, some years AFTER that triumph, - Bobby Moore was given a KNIGHTHOOD, - but, I don't KNOW, for sure!
