I used food coloring to dye my white standard poodle lavender and she suffered no ill effects. She turned out really pretty! However, I used a spray bottle and sprayed her hair with the food coloring while I brushed and blow dried her hair. Using this method, I didn't completely soak her skin with the food coloring. I can't imagine any way to dye your mouse without fully dipping it which would mean soaking it to the skin. I doubt that your mouse would have a problem but would definitely wash it out to get it off it's skin as soon as possible. Hope this helps ..and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Don't see anything wrong with it.Food coloring is harmless and I know people that paint thier cats with food coloring and different vegetable dyes;and cats lick thier fur.So i see no problem with a mouse!

LOL!!! I'm still laughing about that idea!

A friend of mine painted her horse like a zebra for a parade, and the horse was fine. Considering that it is FOOD coloring and not hazardous spray paint, it's a lot safer than my friends idea! Have a blast with it...

I wouldn't try it. My aunt bought some chicks for Easter one year that some one had used food coloring on, every color in the rainbow, she also bought several that were not. All the colored ones died one after the other within days, all the ones that were not, lived.

Yes, food coloring is fine to use on animal fur. Dilute it some, as it is too dark straight from the bottle.

Probably not but it would be pretty cool looking. It may irritate the eyes of the mouse.

In oregon a lady was charged with animal cruelty for doing that to a rabbit.
Better check with your humane society first.
It was not harmful however.

I can't see any harm in it but i think you should consult your vet before trying this and why are you trying to dye him or her green any way?
