Hi, don't be fooled by the simplicity of the look of the Tardis. It is clad in a form of time proof material called timeandtidium. You'll have to register at your local exotic material warehouse to get some. Some has found it's way onto ebay, however....

Also don't try and learn about time travel from films such as 'Back to the Future'. These were good films but the time engines (flux capacitor) is purely ficticious. The engine used in the Tardis was a Klystronic Time Traveller 2.4 and is now long out of date. Klyston's still produce parts for time machines but I recommend Altadimension's ClockFreezer 5000 which is fully upgradeable, compatible with the Klystron parts and comes at a reasonable price. They also supply an 'idiot guide' on DVD, so you'll be up and time travelling in no time!

Can I also suggest, buying or building a small model version of your tardis and fitting the ClockFreezer 25 (a much smaller version) and testing the construction with one of your sister's or daughter's Barbie or Bratz dolls. This can avoid costly mistakes in your full sized version!

The hardest part is building the inside larger than the outside.

Actually, it has everything you need, but you have to 350 years into the future to buy it.

If you are referring to the device on Dr. Who, I am afraid that it is fictitious.
