it really depends on the county. Marriage is done by county courthouse. My husband and I got married that way and we went to one county and they couldn't officiate (they didn't have a judge or preacher to do the ceremony) so we went to a neighboring county that was open that day and they had a judge available to officiate the ceremony for us. The actual certificate is either mailed to you or you can go pick it up a few days/weeks later. You don't really NEED it, as the county you get married in registers your marriage but it's nice to have if you want to change your name. ONce you pay for the lisence and have an official ceremony then bring the paper signed by the officiator back to the lisence place, you are married from that moment on. It doesn't matter where you're from if you have proper ID. The one thing that varies greatly is some counties (or states) require things like blood test or marital counselling first. Just call and ask.

Call the county courthouses and ask them:
Do you issue marriage lisences at that facility?
Do we need to make an appointment or do you take walk-ins?
What are the requirements to obtain the marriage lisence?
Do you have a judge on-site who will officiate?
Do you issue the lisence that day or can we have it mailed?
What ID must we bring?
How much does it all cost?

Yes , the judge by looking at you to be of right age can marry you instantly provided you have no impediment to the marriage contract, and the certificate shall be issued right there which is valid because it is official. Anyone could marry in another state as long as birth certificate is issued and you are both singles. See a judge now for counselling. Good luck and best wishes.

Have him talk with a military chaplain asap-see if they can do it. The marriage license, in most states, is a 3 day waiting period. Try Las Vegas for something possibly quicker. You do, I believe, need to make an appt. for the judge to marry you. The marriage license, depending on the state, will be valid on the thir day, and good maybe up to 60 days. For the license, you will need to go to the dept. of licensing in the admin building or courthouse and make the appt. for the judge to marry you. I wish you both the best. Take care.

I was married in TX.

You get the Marriage license at the court house...it costs $35 but you can't get married until 72 hours after the license was issued. There aren't any blood tests. If you look up weddings in the phone book you will find several people that do it in their offices.

I got married in the courthouse in Missouri. We needed to make an appointment with the judge, and file for a certificate through the county clerk. Contact the courthouse and ask them what you need to do in your circumstance.
