They were by Body & Soul. The company went out of business. And yes the brushes make a difference with making the makeup look good.

it's not the brushes that make the make up look good, it's the technique.Make sure the bristles are soft You can buy pretty good brushes at Sally's, Merle Norman, or a make up counter at the department store. Make sure you clean them well, and take care of them they can last a long time. I clean mine with witch hazel to remove the make up then mist them with alcohol, wipe them dry on a clean towel, try not to pull on the bristles it can make them fall out.

I don't know the brand, but they are profressional make-up artist brushes that you could probably find at any beauty supply store or online. Maybe even find some new ones on eBay for a good deal. :)
