Is it possible for that many people to be that off? I feel like it has to be that I am missing some news that he is miraculously recovered from his surgery.

I saw that too. Keeper leagues is the only logical explanation, but I don't think there are that many keeper leagues on Yahoo Then again, I was just in a draft where he got taken......"you can't stop stupid, it is the most powerful force in the universe" - Me

I don't know if Yahoo keeper leagues (unless you count pen and paper draft leagues) are even entered into the counting for these stats. I think what you're seeing is an 'idiot count' of people who have two admirable qualities:

A. They don't know much about the actually players, or anything going on with them.
B. They DO know just enough to figure out "Low ERA = good" and act on this rule.

This makes them just barely able to be detrimental to their team. Though in time, they will hopefully improve... to feast next year on whoever drafts Prior or something.

Your not missing anything
Liriano one could be added in a keeper league and stashed on the dl and someone could keep them for next year.
then theres people who see he's era and win and pick him up because yahoo wont list a player on the dl till the rosters are set.

I suspect it's because a lot of owners drafted and dropped him when they found out he was hurt. Other owners who STILL don't know he's hurt are grabbing him. In one of my leagues, some moron actually took him in the first round. As for me I'll be officially adding him to my roster in my AL dynasty league when he goes on the DL. Until then he stays on my reserve list.

I live in Minnesota, if he had a chance of coming back i would have heard. People are probably just doing it because they have open roster spots and are waiting to put him on their DL. I don't know why, though.
