you teach him the truth.
1. all the statements on it being bad, harmful, etc are all lies to keep most away from it. the reason is cause it actually opens ones mind to broader horizons and outside the box thinking.
2. it is also illegal cause it is a great source for oil type byproducts. meaning, it can make plastics, rope, oil, pavement, tires, clothing, etc....big oil would hate to see their profits dipped into.
3. you show him how the history books show that our first President, George Washington was the largest hemp farmer in the new states. For hemp is what allowed us to sail the seas, have sails, rope, canvas, bags, etc.
4. show him how every form of old medicine and even many modern ones actually use it as a cure agent. even our own government issues canisters of weed cigs to certain people due to illness.
5. realize the guy who has came up with almost all of the lies on pot, has now done the largest reseach study on it and his results stunned him...for he realized what he had said before, was all a lie.
6. to date, it cures at least 3 cancers that we know of and helps prevent almost all other cancers due to the THC product and the fact it attaches itself to dead cells in the body allowing them to be flushed out, these dead cells gathering is what causes cancer.
7. Many of those top scientists in the Pharmacology industry are totally for marijuana and its properties. They have studied it along with other plants and realize its benefits.
8. they would rather have a mind opening drug banned than to have a monkey drug (cocaine) removed totally, for the CIA is behind the coke trade and if you don't smoke, you will snort is their thinking. plus in old days, people associated pot with mexicans and many saw mexicans as dirty people so they assumed pot was dirty too.
9. The most import reason....the Bible. For in Genesis 1:29, the FIRST book of the Bible mind you. It clearly states, By G_D, no confusion here....
Then God said, ” I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. “
Do you trust G_D or do you trust man? The same man who has created aids, at least 100 forms of cancer, lies to you about medicine, kills others with pills and bad surgery, polutes nature, kills each other, etc.
I myself....trust G_D long before I trust anything that comes from the mouth of a man. And G_D says its food for me. Food means items to eat and to keep healthy. I have smoked for the past 20 yrs, and to see me you'd never even guess I did (clean cut biz owner).
Sure people get to be a "stoner" the first 50 times they smoke it, but after that, the "buzz" starts to fade and the principle fact of the herb starts to take effect. Even my Native Cherokee know of it, use it and believe in it.

Marijuana is already pretty much legal unless you are selling it. In CA, where I am, it's not a big deal and I feel that smoking a little weed is no different than drinking a glass or two of wine like other people do. Also, think of how may people die of alcohol related things compared to marijuana? Alcohol is much worse for society and yet, it's readily available. I know that there are a lot of normal everyday people smoking and it is getting more and more acceptable every day. It wasn't always illegal either, there are many references to people t/o history using it, George Washington even grew it. There are also many earth-friendly reasons why hemp should be used in products over other toxic/synthetic materials.

yes I think if anything it should be the other way around. don't get me wrong I drink and I enjoy it but if you look up the facts alcohol causes more problems then marijuana does. I heard they don't legalize it cuz there would be no way for the government to tax it or make any real money off it not sure if that's true though!

So long as it was controlled or regulated. Marijuana isn't as dangerous as most drugs and isn't the gateway drug that many claim; that honor, if it exists at all, belongs to tobacco. A better question would be, why is tobacco legal and marijuana isn't. As many chemicals that go into modern cigarettes (i.e. cyanide), marijuana is probably healthier, especially if smoked through a water bong which filters out most carcinogens and isn't physically addictive. But, a comparison to tobacco is exactly why it could not be legalized soon. The US is gradually trying to stamp out smoking, it would be a little odd to legalize another thing to smoke. But, it would still need to be regulated and the government may as well collect taxes on it, plus regulation would assure it isn't laced with other drugs. People with THC in their systems aren't usually violent, but judgement is still impaired and I wouldn't trust them behind the wheel of a car. It would be difficult to see how paranoia and munchies affected driving decisions.

marijuana should absolutely be legalized. granted, if it were to happen, there would be a lot of people giggling at the sparkly sidewalks on the downtown streets, but after a while the hype would die down. also, the same laws that apply to drinking... while driving... while in public... also, taxes could be assessed on the sale of it. much like the tobacco tax.

Marijuana should never have been made illegal..
It is simply part of that great Federal employment
program known as the War on Drugs..

I believe it should be legalized, because as you said, it's natural, it's beneficial for cancer patients, AIDS patients, and it's a lot less harmful than alcohol or other legal drugs.

Absolutely. We could tax the hell out of it and then rescue our messed up healthcare system, improve education, and protect our envionment.

No. And explain to your son that it's worse than alcohol, despite what liberals and potheads will try to say.
And also don't fall for the "control and taxation" arguments.
I tell you that they tried to pull that over on us Nevadans (you know, where we have gambling) and they failed big time. We literally ran them out of the state and all of their smart aleck, deceptive TV ads failed miserably.
