could be what the "old wives" call back labor. it could be a precursor to the real deal, but it could also be just having all the extra baby weight to lug around. if the baby is still really active, you're okay. if at any point you notice the baby hasn't kicked in awhile, try to get him/her to move. if a poke in the tummy doesn't get a kick back, try eating something sweet. if you still get no reaction, call the doc. keep track of how long since you last felt the baby move. when labor starts, the baby can't move because the onset of labor constricts it's space. the night before my daughter was born was the first night in six months i slept thru the nite without being woke up by kicking, or having to go pee every hour. but for an hour or so before i went to bed, i was in the bathroom every five minutes or so, i had very sharp pains in my bladder, and lots of pressure. i know now that it was because she had begun descending. when i stood up out of bed in the a.m., i went a gusher. i didn't know for sure if my water had broke, or if i had disastrously lost control of my bladder! but my back and hips hurt so bad for the last two months, i thought i would lose my mind. as far as if you're coming down with something and if it will affect your labor, unless you've got something really obnoxious, it shouldn't affect labor. really, once you get going, someone could fire bomb the room next to you, and you won't notice. if you do have the flu or a bad cold or something, it might make it harder for you to deal with being in labor, if you let yourself get run down by it. get lots of rest if you can. you'll need it soon, whether you caught cold or not.

'Back labor' is usually around the back of your hips-the tailbone area. Stomach soreness is common, just because of the strain that carrying the baby causes on your lower abdominal muscles. Sounds like you just need a nap. You body is going through alot right now, so rest up--this is the easy part.
Second, if you have sneezing, fever**, runny nose-see your ob/gyn and don't take any OTC cold medicine until s/he okays it. A cold/flu will not affect the labor itself, but the meds that you take to deal with it can. If you start running a fever-call your doctor immediately.
GOOD LUCK!

labor is knocking at the door, have your bags packed, you might take the trip to the hospital very soon. As for back, try relaxing in a tub not very hot, but jacuzzy like. It will alleviate some of the pains. The baby in this stage of pregnancy is putting a lot of strain on your body, so anything you can do to relax, do it now, cuz after the baby is here, that word will dissapear from your vocabulary, and your personal dictionary... Congrats girl! We're rooting for you!!! You will make it!
Second part q, - well it depends what you might be coming down with, but you know? Once you've given birth your body miraculously heals itself, you'll see. The hormone surge you get after the birth is also strenghtening your immune system, so relax, relax, relax!

Sounds like back labor. I would definitly try to get some Zzz's in and call your doc. Not all labor is the stomach, wanna die, pains. Doesn't sound like the flu at all.

You are having small contractions. They don't feel like "contractions," just painful and crampy. Anytime the back hurts like that it can make you feel flu like. Expect that water to break within the week!

It doesn't sound like you are getting sick. All of your symptoms sound like normal aches and pains of late pregnancy.
