My experience working @ Applebees was great I worked there in Tulsa, OK on 71st Street and at that time Applebees was promoting there lightning lunch the food came out really fast. We guaranteed our guest got there food in a certain amount of time and you would turn tables fast.
I also worked at an Applebees in Gulfport, Ms on highway 51. At this Applebees I made decent $$ and the team there was great. I especially enjoyed the management.

It is an OK place, quite a few of my friends worked there, its fine to start off in but Applebees as a company is going downhill. The people who own it are actually trying to sell the whole chain, and no one wants to buy them... because their quality compared to them 10 years ago, has drastically declined. Try a TGI Fridays or a Pub 99 or Chicago Uno, in my opinion they are a little higher quality places.

I guess it depends on if it is corporate owned or a franchise and if the actual owner really gives a crap!!
I work a nationally known chain but it is a franchise that has had the same owner for 20 years and are there all the time, they care and are consistent in all that they do.
We are always busy and have a great rep, with the locals and the tourists.

If you are going to wait tables at a chain restaurant Caraba's would probably be a better place since they have a more expensive menu. Bigger check means bigger tip. Also, work near or at the bar if possible.

I agree with Rain above me... The parking lots are always full and the crowds they bring are usually good tippers.
