depends on whats wrong with it, if it is the motherboard no chance you can't, anything else you stand a chance. need to know what is wrong with it before I can help you

go to a local computer shop....you can even do it yourself, but what i think you want is transfer/recover the files from the old hard drive to the new hard drive. then you need a prof. (you can still do it yourself, just buy some software)
If you just need a new hard drive, all you do is remove the cable and plug it into the same spots on the new hard drive. Remember the new hard drive is black. so you will need to windows xp install disk. borrow one from a friend since you have to code you need behind your computer.

give it to dell .they will fix it very cheap .if not you can tell dell's manger say they server is very bad.
