all those nifty little things that people buy because they look pretty on a shelf, not because they actually serve and purpose. That case your mom has with all those little statues? Yeah, those are knick knacks.

knick knacks are small statuetes or figurines, ceramic items, shells, etc. that are placed in a living room, dining room or bedroom on a table, shelves, entertainment center, wall corner shelf or coffee table to add decoration, color and/or interest to the room.
