I can't understand this trend now putting whorish women on some sort of pedestile, while decent women are treated badly by some of these men. Maybe a man can explain it--i don't get it.

The truth I think is that most men don't know the difference. So the woman who has some respect for herself and some integrity gets pushed to the back while the lose woman gets more of his time because most men are completely physical and can't see what's actually good for them.
Fortunately for me, my husband had his fill of trashy women by the time he met me and was relieved that I was not like the rest of the women that had been in his life. He actually appreciates the woman that I am and he knows that if I can be almost any woman that he needs, so he doesn't feel the need to go back to those types of women.
If I didn't have 3 brother's and a father who I watched them in their dealings with women, I would not understand either. But like women, men will never be figured out.
Another thing is maybe you should date men that you are not usually attracted to. I wasn't attracted to my husband when I met him, but he swept me off my feet and now here we are. As a matter of fact not attracted is an understatement, I didn't even like his voice, I didn't like any of his physical characteristics but he wound up being the right one for me.
So if you are finding this problem with men that you are attracted to, then maybe you should step out of your comfort zone and venture into other kinds of men, or at least where you meet them.

That seems to be a common trait with men. I have a friend who's girlfriend treated him like dirt, cheated on him, took his money and just treated him poorly. Well he broke up with her met a nice girl who had had a crush on him for the longest, she treated him like gold. As soon as the first girl asked him back he ran to her, now he is back around me crying "Why does she treat me so bad?" I just shake my head.
I think many men just like to be treated badly and hang around the nastiest girls, just my opinion.

Thats a very generalized question. I think you have surrounded yourself with the wrong kind of men.
My husband, and the men I have dated in the past have been very respectful to me. There are a lot of great men out there.
