I am 17, 5'7", 120lbs, and a senior. I recently ran a test run in 12.5s, which I know I can do a lot better? Is my height affecting me by far? My 1 rep max for squat about 280lbs, and I have a very good explosion start. What can I be suggested in training in, and what will I be able to get later?

i am no pro, so this is NOT professional advice......make sure you start low and gradually rise up, the faster you pump your arms, the faster your legs will tend to go. Find out if you should take short quick strides, or slow long strides......thats all i got...good luck

I'm a junior in high school and going to say this from personal experience after running 100s and 200s in track and field for 4 years. The optimal height for running sprints is 5'-7 to 5'-9, so you are not at a disadvantage.
If that was the first time running the 100, its not bad. I would recommend getting used to the sprint mechanics (running form, block starts). By practicing these things, it will get implanted in your neurological system and your time will greatly improve.

You didn't provide much information in your post, but it seems like you look like a twig (120 lb??). If you have the time, do some weight training and gain some much needed weight in not only your lower body but also your upper body. The most useful lift I think is the clean.

You can also try resistance training: bungee cords, parachutes, tire pulls, uphill runs, etc.

Use large dogs in your training. Big ones, like great danes. Tie a steak to your butt and run. You will get faster, my son did.
