my computer is picking up my wireless signal but will not let me connect without the cable. apparently my settings have been messed up - how do i fix it?

thanks jeff - i was actually looking for info on where to find the info i needed to configure - anyway i finally found someone through my internet company who helped me - he was the first out of 4 that were not "still in training" - they tried telling me it was my interface that had burned out - amatuers!! anyway thanks for your help

Technical questions like this can have a TON of answers. Trust me, I've done PC tech support for YEARS. Now I'm a software engineer and I don't have to deal with it. So, the easiest answer would be to find the reset button on your wireless router, hold it down for about 10 seconds, then let go. Then follow the instructions that came with the manual for setting it back up.
If you don't like that idea, tell me what brand/model router you have and I'll try to throw some directions together to get you back up and running.
