what us doctors use to calculate your due date is called nagele's rule which is named after a german obstetrician Franz K. Nagele. you subtract 3 months from the first day of your last period, and add 7 days. for example: if you last normal LMP was july 17th you would count backwards june 17th, may 17th, april 17th and add 7 days so the EDD(expected date of delivery) would be april 24th. hope this helps.
