Try posting an ad in your local Craig's List. A hobbyist or private party might be interested. Most wood companies won't bother with one tree.

It is not valued as an expencive wood so as to make a single tree worth trying to sell other than for fire wood. maybe a DIY person would cut it for you for free to get the lumber, try the news paper.

remebr there is a lot of colonial cherry furniture, but the trees were of a large diameter trunks, if you know of an outsorcing place for local artist, send the wood there otherwise, kindling

They don't usually buy just one tree. It's not worth the while to come out and cut it down. Would cost them more than what you're hoping to get.

If the tree is straight enough & big enough & there is some one near that wants it you could get some money for it.
Try the inter-net or yellow pages.
