His program works. We took FPU 14 months ago and now we don't argue about money. We have common goals for our future and we are in debt but he gave us the plan and so far have paid off over $15k in debt.
His program isn't a fast program but the results work. It took time to get into debt it takes time to get out of debt and takes time to save and change your behavior. He wants your behavior to change so the budget and the saving comes easier. And believe us, it does! Our attitudes towards money has changed and we both want stress free living and not worry about debt!
Keep with it-you will see the results.
Short term sacrifices for long term gain!

My uncle turned me on to Dave Ramsey this past December, so my husband and I checked him out by reading The Total Money Makeover, and we're hooked.
We have our starter emergency fund and have paid off $9000 in debt since January. I think we have to be willing to go the distance, but I think if you can do it, it does work.
We're already seeing the difference! Live like no one else!!

i have heard of him and used many of his info, but being we have bills higher than our income , the saving plan is hard to start. his radio show i like allot. his attitude about credit and credit card's hit people, because the US is almost controlled by having credit. or easy cash you cant afford is what i call it. Dave's envelope system helps, his priorities are important, i disagree with the tithing part, because i know what Malachi says as a whole and not the small part that churches use as a way to get your money. i am a bible believer and church officials have tried to change our minds, but they also cant dispute his own words either. but Dave's plan beyond that is great i learned about him 6 years ago and i listen to his show when i get the chance. i know it works from friends who have succeeded where my family has failed, but we play daily that when the lord wills it that time will change. remember to watch your money, keep track of where its going and see where you can change in spending habits and such. good luck and i hope it will help you. god bless

I used to listen to his radio program. I think you need to pick and choose his advice, and apply what works for you. We ( my wife and I ) are taking to heart his philosophy of being debt free, including cars, houses etc. Makes sense to me.

If you are taking his class then you know he's for real. What he teaches is common sense. Nothing more. Nothing less.
