Whenever I feel that what I say may hurt the other person, I just don't say anything. Most of the time I am polite. But there have been times, when I told people truthfully what I really think of them. It was necessary. So, I am honest, but not brutally.

I try to be polite, but I'm usually one of the brutally honest people. Working on it though.

Im a bit of both but more brutally honest than polite. Its gotten me into some trouble but it didnt phase me. I dont like people to beat around the bush, and I dont do the same.

I tend to be both. Wishy washy, I know! I can be brutally honest with my sister-in-law because she drives me insane and the words just fly out of my mouth these days. Its been 13 years and I swear shes been on every nerve I have!
I really don't know that I give answers that want to be heard.....there is a tactful way to tell someone the truth, even if its *bad* and not hurt their feelings.....

Depends on the person, I'm brutally honest to my oldest sister. I'm just straight up mean when she's being stupid. As for just about everyone else, I sugar coat what I say.

I believe it's actually more polite to be brutally honest.
Lying to people in order to tell them what they want to hear is condescending, which is rude.
