Take logs of both sides:-
ln (e^(2x)) = ln 2.9
2x = ln 2.9
x = (ln 2.9) / 2
x = 0.5324

take ln of both sides
2x = ln(2.9)
x = ln (2.9)/2
x=.5323553684962
x=.5324
