The idea is that I want to be able to wirelessly give print /scan/copy commands to my printer, from my laptop which has both Bluetooth and WiFi on it. That way I can locate my printer in a corner somwehere and not have to bother with wires and cables . I am guessing that may have to get a bluetooth adapter or something for it?

The only thing you can reliably do w/o wire is to print. To Scan/Copy requires somebody physically at the device any way.

If you already have a wifi network, easiest is probably a wifi printer-server.

You need to buy a wifi USB adapter for your printer. You just hook it to your printer and you can print to it through your wifi. But to use the wifi you need a wireless router. They probably have Bluetooth ones too. With a Bluetooth one you wouldn't need a wireless router. If you go to Bestbuy.com they have some so you can see what is out there.
