It may take a day, can take a week. If it doesn't happen within a week they will probably recommend a D&C. Your pregnancy symptoms might go away, might not. And your HCG should drop as you bleed/miscarry and will be 0. You have to have blood tested to make sure it was complete or just so you know your levels ARE dropping. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, but I couldn't choose a way as I was bleeding too heavily, I had to have a D&C.

Hi, i have had 2 miscarriages one at 12 weeks and the other at 20 weeks which i had to deliver. The 12 week one i had a scan and no heart beat was told due to me being over weight it would be better for me to go home and wait for nature to take its course.I waited 2 weeks and it did start but still had to have a d&c.I have also had tablets as well and as someone else was saying about losing clots.Everybody is different and every preganties is as i am 5 weeks at the moment and scared that it going to happen again.

I had a miscarriage when I was about 15 weeks along. My pregnancy symptoms had already started to go away, which is how I knew something was wrong. I actually chose to use a pill that is for abortions...I strongly do NOT reccomed that. It was 3 days of agony and passing huge clots...then to make it worse, I still had to have the D&C. My dr told me it could take a couple of weeks to do it naturally and I couldn't handle waiting that long. I am very sorry for your loss and I hope everything works out for you. Good Luck

I have had two..One at 8 weeks and one at 14. The first one lasted for about 2 1/2 weeks. The second lasted 2 1/2 months. I didn't get a D&C on either one but I needed one.I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound and they told me that my baby wasn't big enough and that there was no heartbeat. The miscarriage came about a week later. It was painful and heartbreaking. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with a little girl and have had no complications. (knock on wood)

I went to the doctor and found out I had a blighted ovum(sack but no baby) and four or five days later I started cramping and miscarried...I was about 8-9 weeks...I`m sorry for your impending loss and hope for the best for you..I`ve had to miscarriages in a row and then finally had a baby boy and I`m 5 months pregnant with #3...So don`t give up hope even if this one doesn`t work out..

With my miscarriage i had spotting and just a very tiny bit of tissue pass for dayssss before i ended up having the real thing. my babys passed away at 8 weeks and i carried them until 12 weeks which is when the spotting started *my cervix wasnt even open yet* so the doc gave me some meds to take to let it pass instead of me waiting days or even more weeks for it to happen. i took the meds and within 1 day i miscarried...good luck!

Ive had two natural ones. They tend to last a week to a week and a half when it comes to the bleeding and everything. As for the HCG levels im not sure what mine were. Everyones body is different though so yours could be way different then mine.

I'm sorry for your loss. I never had a miscarriage, but my mom did when I was young. They told her it could take a few weeks for her to miscarry, so she went ahead and did a D&C. I know it was one of the hardest things she ever had to do, so my heart goes out to you.
