Something instrumental, that sounds uber generic, but original and flows in continuity. Something avant grade along the lines of Electro-Jazz and World Beat, but not tribal. Solo instrumentalists are cool too. No Kenny G or Michael Bolton commercialisms please. Thanks people.

Not sure if you like James Taylor , but I enjoyed that recently at a dinner party. The music was toned down so conversation was easy. I found it very pleasant. Sometimes you heard the music and a song you enjoyed and other times you were in conversation and you didn't even hear the music. I thought it was perfect.

Maybe you could try out Michael Buble, he sings some of frank Sanatra's songs, but makes them more upbeat, he also sings songs written by him. He is a GREAT singer, and whenever you listen to his songs you ge this feeling inside of you, I don't know how to describe it... It makes you feel happy and like energized or something... He is a totally great singer. People of all ages would like him.
Hope this helps!
