What are the pros and cons of wood sheds, vinyl sheds, and metal sheds? All of them are the type you can get at Lowes. Cost and durability are the biggest factors. The shed will be next to a garage, with fencing on the other two sides. We just need it to hold the lawnmower, snowblower, and other such tools.

Building from scratch is not an option for me. I'm not that handy!

Vinyl is the most inexpensive exterior coverings and overall low maintenance. Prepare for the yearly scrubbing as pressure washers can actually cause leakage. You can pick from a number of colors which looks good with all types of windows and trims.
If you live in a area that's subject to high winds or harse conditions, metal is a strong finish that rarely requires maintenance. Construction can be costly and a more permanent building will result.
Wood with a long lasting stain or paint
will remain strong and beautiful for many, many years. Some insurance carriers insist on wood (or costly, cement board) because of it's durability and weight. The price will be somewhat more than vinyl, but if a strong, good looking shed is what you seek, wood is the best way to go.

I put up a wood shed at one time, and a metal shed. Putting up a metal shed in the wind is almost impossible. As far as how long they last, it is a toss up.

The wood shed looks better and wood (pun intended) help the resale of your home. Also a nice wood shed that matches your home as to tile roof, color and design would be less likely to get the Homeowner's Association down on you.

Forget plastic. They get looking weather beaten in just a few years.

I have had many diffrent dogs, ive had between yorkies and kuvasas. i never have less then three dogs at once, i cant help but love them. i must say though, the most loyal dog i have is my newfoundland. newfoundlands are easy to train, laidback dogs. they should be walked (or ran) atleast once a day. they LOVE water, and are very friendly with other animals and kids. my newf was easy to train, and is extreamly inteligent. but he does have health problems. i wont lie, newfoundlands are prown to health problems, i just made the mistake of buying one out of a pet store, and he has massive hip problems. BUT I WOULD NOT TRADE HIM FOR THE WORLD. it all depends on what you want in a dog, search breeds, and look for what you want. me, im a large dog person, so i prefer them big ;) good luck with your decision though !

The metal ones are not that sturdy. They rust, they fall down in heavy winds or heavy snow. The vinyl is also not sturdy, the wind can blow them over and they crack in the cold weather although they are the easiest to assemble. The wood is the hardest to assemble but it will be heavier and therefore, less prone to wind damage. It won't crack because of the cold nor will it rust.

Make sure you get one bigger than you think you will need, say next size up, you will be glad you did.
