Stand it on end and put sheves in it, then you can put pots on the sheves and paint the inside with a fun theme.

I don't how long you have had this boat, but if your husband hasn't used it in several years, I would just go ahead and claim it has a very cute and functional planter box. I noticed the word "maybe" use it! I have seen them in yards tucked away in a corner, or out where it can be seen, full of dirt and filled with many types of flowers, especially when they have a few trailing plants to go over the sides. Add some garden art and I am sure your husband will enjoy it as much as you do. If it is pretty old, a touch of paint should do it wonders.

Well from the little you have projected, I would suggest that since you think the boat is NOT going to be used as 'fishing", then it would probably be good for the landscape IF you present it properly. You can't just put it out by itself . Hemp rope in a small area to create a "atmosphere" surrounding the area might do the trick. You will need shells, an old reel, ect... If you take the mans boat, make it look GOOD !!!
Create a space that will compliment the boat, or the boat will compliment the surroundings. use your imagination...

How big is the boat and how big is your yard? Since I am from Maine and my grandfather was a lobster man, I could visualize all kinds of ideas based on the actual size of each. I would probably choose a nautical scene using lobster traps, buoy. Maybe put a nice little bench close by to sit and meditate/pray. Maybe even a small memorial remembering ones that were lost at sea. But Jewel, I am a Maniac, straight from Maine !!!
LOL Check out the link I sent. His wife is my cousin and he is a very talented artist. I just got a copy of his new book he wrote. His back yard is small but it is all nautical. What makes it so neat is that the things are from my great grandfather who was a boat builder. I love his back yard and I admire his work! It's so peaceful and full of love!
I just love and miss the ocean so much! Maybe I'll go back to Maine...maybe sooner than what most think.

Place it against a large mound of dirt, so it looks like it just washed up. You can plant creepers or small plants or bushes in the dirt at the base and taller plants to the side or behind the boat. It would look nice if you set this up under a tree with the boat leaning against the tree trunk. If you can tilt the boat to a side angle and secure it appropriately, you could turn it into a bench using cushions (and ingenuity).

My son has a small row boat which he uses as a fish pond it looks great and makes a very good water feature, the fish (goldfish) seem to like it as they can hide under the seat when startled
hope this helps

you can use it as one of those worship thingys. You know the cut in half bathtubs that have jesus in them and stuff like that. Why would you want to use a boat to landscape in the first place?

I know of someone who turned their boat into a fountain. I believe that she also put in water plants and fish.
