consider having it made by a seamstress. Go see what you can find. Look through a sewing pattern book. There are some really cool modern looking things. you would be surprised. That way you get exactly what you want. I'd see if you could ask friends or you mom's friends to see if they know anyone who does really good work.

JC Penney!! I just went and they had all sorts of prom dresses pink, blu, and a beautiful deep red wine color that was fitted at the top and flowy at the bottom. Good luck

Just look at department stores or bridal shops. Bridal shops could make your dress more customized, so that if you find a dress that you want, you could probably have them change the fabric, and it would be fitted to you, so you wouldn't have to have it tailored. And I wouldn't recommend buying over the internet because you can never really tell if it's your perfect dress by looking at the tiny pictures that they usually have.
