Nope, I only accept people that I personally know. I think myspace is a great place for my friends and family and I to chat and stuff, but I just have no desire to become "friends" with random people out there in cyberspace. That's only my opinion though. I'm sure a lot of people have met on the Internet and become great friends and what not. It is really just a personal preference. I would encourage you to be cautious if you do accept strangers as friends. Try to gage their personality by their profile before you accept them...and if you think maybe you two would have ever been friends in real life or you might have compatible personalities, then it might be cool to accept them. Hope this helps! : )

Maybe if I chatted with them online for awhile or some sort of connection. I make exceptions for bands and stuff, but that's about it. Part of my reason is that if they spread a virus or something with their page and somehow they were viewed because someone saw them on my friends list, then I'd feel sorta responsible.

Another thing is that some people just try to get added to everyones page as a popularity contest or a way to reach more people with advertising.

If I get a friend request from someone I don't know I will check out their profile first. If they have 100s of friends, I do not accept because I assume therye just trying to collect friends. But if they dont have a lot of friends, I will accept, wait a week and if they dont talk to me, i delete them! I really dont get why people add people they dont know, then dont even talk to them......

ALSO, it seems like lately i have been getting a lot of friend requests from girls trying to sell "free" gift cards and stuff like that, its lame .. its easy to tell who they are though and i dont accept those either
