I'm 18, depressed, in a lot of debt, and going completely insane. I tried college last semester, but wasn't trying hard or doing well so I just quit. I hate most jobs, and i want to be a poker dealer for a while. Should I keep trying to get a dealing job, or try going back to college? Or should I just die?

Don't just die. you are 18 and don't even realize how young you are, 18 is a hard age to be for many people, but i would kill 1000 men to be 18 again and I would get a guitar and play 8 hours a day till I was the best in the world. Pick something you like and become the best at it in the whole world.

I'm a single working parent, raising two children in a rough neighborhood. I don't own a vehicle, and getting my kids off to school, and myself to work in winter time can be a nightmare. At present, I teach in an early child care centre, it's not my ideal job, but it is convenient for now, and it enables me to be home in time for my children.

Dude! Harden up. Your first priority is to pay off your debts. Take what ever job is on offer and start paying your bills. Your only 18, you can have a great career. It comes from hard work and making sacrifices. Yes life can be challenging, but those challenges make you a stronger person. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Go hard.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. You can go to school part time and work part time. It's no wonder that you're depressed if you have debts because they will eat at you. You have to come up with a plan for yourself and stick to it. At 18, you've got alot of time to reach the goals that you will be setting but only YOU can plan them, reach them, and track them. Contact your local United Way Agencies and ask about support groups and/or free counseling in your area. You don't have to climb every mountain in your life alone. Don't sit around waiting for your ship to come in ... swim out to meet it. It is all about action now. Until you pick up the phone or do something to change your situation, nothing will change.

Well, what do you want to do? Spend your time being depressed and poor? How about this? Quit sitting around moping, and use your time and money wisely. There are several good-paying jobs you can get with only an associate's degree. Look at the Occupational Outlook Handbook. I say go back to school, but only if you'll knuckle down and do it right.

I would recommend going to school part time to manage time with work. Only with schooling can you actually get a nice realxed work. The school you would attnd would most likely have a counselor or psychologist that can help you free of charge and it really help (no they are not for crazy people sometimes talking to someone unattached to you can really help you). Lastly find time for yourself to do physical activities at least 20 min a day walk or exercise it can help relieve stress and help your deprssion.
