It has been many years since I played organized sports. Most of the time I was not the biggest guy on the field but I had the heart of "Rudy". I can't say that I was injured alot, although I am sure my parents would definately not agree, but the injuries I sustained were for the most part the same as you hear on TV. I tore the ligiaments in my left knee twice. Both times my recovery was about 6 weeks and after the first week or so the pain was virtually non existent. I broke my left Collar Bone and this was pretty painful. Again the recovery was about 6 weeks. This was really uncomfortable but after a couple of weeks I was starting to feel better unless I did something stupid. I separated my left shoulder more times than I can remember and eventually required surgery. Believe me when I say that recovering from surgery was 10 times more painful than the injury itself. So as you see I have had a few injuries. The one injury I sustained that really put me down was one you don't hear much about. I tore the tendons in my lower right leg. At the offset of this injury I had no idea what I had done. I complained a little to my folks but I thought it was a muscle pull so I kept playing. Eventually my limp was becomming more noticeable and I was really complaining about the pain. The pain was there 24 hours a day. It was not until My mother could not force me to get off the couch before I had a physician look at it. I was on crutches for about 2 weeks after this and constantly in pain. Pain killers did nothing. Soon I was walking with a cane. For the next 6 months I had to walk with this cane. This all transpired about 30 years ago and to this day I cannot straighten my right leg as I can my left. It hurts as I try. I have been injured many times in my life. Some from sports and some from stupidity. I have had broken bones, concussions, ligament tears, abraisions and I am sure a few injuries I don't remember but the torn Tendons have got to be the worst pain I have ever felt and definatly the most persistant.

In highschool, I played WR. During a play, I had two humongous muscular dudes make a wish using my left knee to do so. As I was running, one grabbed me, wrapping his hands around my chest and knocking me to the ground and as I was going down, the other player grabbed both my legs. Each one pulled in both directions(hence the wishbone method), next thing I hear is a popping sound. That was my left knee. After that I walked on crutches for about a month or so, saw a chiro, rehab - like knee extentions, etc. But, still my knee bums out sometimes today.
I know this isn't related to football, but I digress. Playing baseball in HS as a catcher, I sustained a concussion when an over-zealous player knocked me clean outta my socks and I hit my head on the ground. Woke up in the hosp. after that. Had the wind knocked outta me a few times guarding the plate and a gotta few broken fingers and a some stray baseballs hitting 'you-know-where'. You just gotta love sports.

Shoulder impingement, doesn't sound bad but believe me, it is. It's a constant pain that NOTHING helps. I had to get back in (I'm an important player on Defense Offense and Special Teams and I was I missed the 2nd and 3rd games out of 7) so I got a cortisone shot, which if you've had one, you know it's painful, and if you haven't had one, you've probably heard that it's really painful.

29 years ago as a sophomore in college I completely shredded my ACL and MCL. This was before arthroscopic surgery so after 4 operations to rebuild my knee, removing a ligament in my elbow to use in the knee, 8 months in a full leg cast, 3 more in a brace, and 6 months in PT to learn to walk and run again my football career was over

My right shoulder popped out during a football game and they took me to a hospital. The pain is so bad, and i had to wait in a waiting room for about 1 h because the x-ray machine was broken. I seriously almost passed-out because of the pain.

Dislocated and severly sprained my wrist in middle of september. I was playing strong safety and a sweep came my way. I tackle the RB and my wrist hit the ground weirdly. I saw my fingers touching my middle of my forearm. (I was grossed out by it).
I didn't want to go out so I moved it and made a HUGE HUGE cracking noise and screamed in pain. I played rest of the year with it but the pain was unbearable sometimes.

I was considered an A weight, the coach had me tackled by an X weight. I was thrown to the ground, my right arm pinned underneath me. When I got up, my arm was major pain...the coach told me to run laps. By the time my mom got there to pick me up (as she was freakin) my arm was a U shape. My arm had been broken in 3 places!
