No. FRENCH SUPPLYING OUR ENEMIES

"Hezbollah has fired Russian-made Metis-M anti-tank missiles and owns European-made Milan missiles, the army confirmed on Friday."
These are weapons that Hezbollah got from Syria and Iran.
MILAN is a portable medium range, anti-tank weapon manufactured by Euromissile, based in Fontenay-aux-Roses in France.
Its nice to know that John Kerry's global test friends are on our side. "

Orion and Stone K have given you the most complete and truthful answers. If you don't give Best Answer to one of them, "Blatantly unfair" is another characteristic of the French we can add to the list.
I like French culture, but not their politics or their government. You do realize that the French, Russians, and Germans were all being bribed by Saddam Hussein in the Oil For Food Scandal, don't you? The French had no intention of ever honoring any of the SEVENTEEN harsh resolutions passed against Iraq, because their UN representatives were getting rich from Saddam's oil money. That is why the U.S. had to fight the war in Iraq practically alone, because of the dishonesty and lack of honor of the French.
On the flip side, what is good about France and its people? The French have high principles about matters relating to culture. I like that, I respect that. They have small producers of gourmet food items, and are fighting to keep them from having to surrender to big conglomerates who could care less about quality, tradition, and uniqueness. The French should be applauded and commended for their high standards.
The French have a good lifestyle. They like slow, leisurely meals. They are interested in art and culture. They think deeply about issues (maybe not deeply enough about politics, though). The French society has a lot of admirable characteristics. It's the government of France that needs reforming, as well as an attitude adjustment.

Why would we want to do that?
The French haven't been right about anything in hundreds of years.
Seriously - What would make you think we should listen to the French?
Their economy is in a shambles. The Airbus and Galileo projects (of which France is a major contributor) are on the verge of collapse.
They are in violation of a number of EU regulations.
Their society is in a shambles with open civil war leaving over 750 areas of the country outside government control and over 200 cars a night being torched in constant, on-going rioting.
They backed Saddam in two different losing wars.
They've invaded the Ivory Coast without any international approval at all - it's so bad there are demonstrations of folks there with signs asking the US to invade and throw the French out.
They've got a nightmarish immigration problem.
They absolutely blew it in Vietnam.
In recent European polls, the French were listed as the LEAST wanted tourists the world over.
They are widely considered the rudest people on Earth to tourists.
They haven't won a battle since Napoleon (a Corsican, not even French).
Their best fighting in WWII was...against the Allied landings in North Africa, delaying our liberation of...France.
One of the top SS divisions in WWII was made up of...French Volunteers - The Charlemagne Division.
In WWI, the French cut and run from battle after battle (Though to be fair, some French Poiliu did show great heroism as well, largely wasted by wretched generalship - something all sides suffered from)
Even their wine is now made from US Grapes - The French grapes died off years ago and were replaced with cuttings from Californian grape vines.
The French cleverly decided to sell nuclear technology, knowledge, and equipment to...Saddam Hussein.
So...exactly WHAT area is it that you think we should listen to the French in? Where do you consider them qualified to give advice to ANYONE?
Bathing?
The thing the French are most famous for, world-wide, is surrendering. Ahhhh...Of course! You must be a Democrat. You want us to Surrender in Iraq, so naturally, you're hoping we turn to the world leaders on the topic. Now I understand. My bad.

If we want advice on wine and cheese sure (but honestly, my time in the kitchen has shown me France is not the best wine producers anymore IMO).
But why should we listen to people who can be bought off with blood money? that are willing to sell nuke technology and supplies to the highest bidder. that knowingly sells arms to enemy states. That knowingly sells arms to militias and groups participating in genocide. and that will not even back up the UN resolutions they claim to support.
Sorry, But the US maybe a lot of things but we have a little more honor than that. and you can scoff at that idea but please disprove any of my statements above about France.
oil for food scandal
the nuclear reactors it sold to Iraq in the late 70's early 80's, the parts it sells to Iran and n. Korea.
Selling Exocet missiles to Argentina that sank the HMS Sheffield.
Arms being sold to the militias in Rwanda.
not backing the UN resolutions that required Saddam to allow inspectors in to his country and may other resolutions as well.
Why should any one listen to hypocrites that claim they want peace but sell the needs of war to enemy governments?
Why should any one listen to morality lectures from France when they discriminate against the majority of immigrants living there, they put them in what amounts to ghettos and have done nothing to prevent racial tensions and violence?
you may not like our president, but no one should like the shiftless way France acts, does business, ignores UN resolutions, or how it acts morally outraged when they them self's are compounding the problems.
The US is far from perfect, but the day we listen to France is the day France becomes worth listening too.

Listen to cowards. Get real. The French. alone with the Russians and Germans have been supplying Irac with weapons for years before we got there. That's why they didn't want to help us. The Germans help Saddam built a atomic power plant in the 70s, till Israel bombed it to bits. He had been trying to get a Atom bomb for a long time. Don't think for a minute that Saddam didn't move most of his WMDs to Syria and Jordan before we struck him.

The worst mistake we could EVER make is to listen to the French on anything. Except wine and cheese.
The French are right now preparing for their next surrender, checking their closets for what to wear.
The French are quitters. To them, nothing is worth fighting for, not even their own country.
A small, sad little people.
