Tisch has an outstanding program but even if you're amazing you will still be in the back of the chorus until you're a junior, where you will move to the front of the chorus/ensemble.

I was accepted at Tisch and decided not to go because of two reasons. 1) the whole money aspect, i'm not one who could afford there with Loans, Scholarships, and Working, and 2) I've had friends that went there, and then transfered realizing it was a HUGE mistake.

At Tisch you never get the chance to be in shows, and practically work one on one. You have a class of 100 that you're competeing with for the spotlight, and even as a freshman you don't perform-- you're not allowed to.

This was a rather big deal from me considering Tisch has been my top choice since I was about 12, and suddenly my senior year in high school, it all changed, and it kinda hurt ALOT!

But I LOVE where i'm at now, and they have a great theatre program, and I as far as USC, I don't know much about it, but look at the ratio for you're theatre classmates who are joining you, and if you can perform in your freshman year.

Sorry I couldn't be a larger help!

For action picture? i've got heard extra kudos for NYU's Tisch. additionally, you have transit get right of entry to to different SAG cities mutually with D.C. and Philly in case you reside in NYC. ultimately you will might desire to spend a while in l. a. yet, in my opinion, ny is a huge place to start as an actor in case you've the money for the lease! :-)

Frankly, I don't think that USC is anywhere near the acting school that NYU is.

HOWEVER...if your intention is to work primarily in film, then you would have to consider that your residency at USC would give you ready access to the students at the best FILM school in America. I've done several student films with the USC folks, and have always enjoyed the experience.

USC film school is the best in the world bar none. Nobody even comes close to what they can do in film. They have a fine drama school, but NYU has a better drama department. So they each have their strengths.
